Innisfil’s 2017 Holiday Activities & Events

November 29, 2017

The Town of Innisfil shines over the holidays, with a wide variety of family-friendly activities to get the children excited and the whole family in the holiday spirit. Below we’ve compiled a list of many of the holiday activities Innisfil has to offer, all of which are conveniently located within close proximity to Belle Aire Shores’ beautiful new homes. Let’s take a closer look at Innisfil’s 2017 holiday festivities!

Christmas Carols

There’s no better way to get into the holiday spirit than with cheerful Christmas music! On Saturday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m., Innisfil’s Community Church at 1571 Innisfil Beach Road will be hosting a Christmas concert featuring the Huronia Symphony Orchestra playing all the Christmas classics. The performance will also include a sing-along segment and an opportunity for the kids to meet the Jolly Old Elf.

Get Your Skates On!

Innisfil has always been a town that celebrates Canadian culture to its fullest. And what says Canada more than a family outing to your local skating rink! Innisfil’s rinks are a hub of sport and activity during the winter season for kids participating in hockey tournaments, as well as parents wanting to skate recreationally with their little ones. Innisfil is home to three skating rinks: one at Innisfil’s Recreational Complex at 7315 Yonge Street, one at Lefroy South’s Innisfil Community Centre at 1354 Killarney Beach Road, and the third at Stroud’s Innisfil Community Centre at 7883 Yonge Street. Click here to inquire about recreational skate times for families.

The Gift of Giving

Innisfil’s Christmas 4 Kids is a wonderful charity that allows you to donate toys, food, perishables and gift cards to families in Innisfil that are less fortunate and may need a helping hand over the holidays. The charity was founded by a principal from one of Innisfil’s public schools who asked a parent to start a charity to benefit less fortunate families over the holidays. Local churches and churches from Cookstown and Churchill quickly became involved, and the charity continues to this day to help families and their children all year round! Get Crafty!

Parents and their kids will be able to make their own felt Christmas stockings with a wide array of material, designs and fabrics. Kids will also be able to use heat transfer vinyl to have their names placed on their one-of-a-kind stockings! The cost is $4 per adult and $4 per child 8+ years of age. The Christmas crafting session will take place on Tuesday, December 19, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Innisfil IdeaLAB’s Lakeshore location at 967 Innisfil Beach Road.

Check Out Drysdale’s Christmas Village

Take a short drive to Drysdale’s Farm in Egbert and watch the Christmas Village come to life. Starting November 18, Drysdale’s Christmas Village will be open every weekend for families to enjoy the countless holiday activities! Take a train or wagon ride to explore Santa’s house, or enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows by the fire before rummaging through the woods to cut down your very own Christmas tree. The kids will also love getting their faces painted while being wooed by the village’s resident magician. Don’t forget to go into Drysdale’s Evergreen Store for unique holiday decorations and more!
