Sports and other physical activities are essential for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. With a healthy amount of recreation programs available for you and your family, you’re bound to find a program to suit in Lindsay!

The city operates two indoor aquatic facilities year-round; Lindsay Recreation Complex and the Forbert Memorial Pool. There are a variety of recreational swim programs, aqua fit classes & swimming lessons year-round. They also host beach programs during the summer months for speciality aquatic programs including lifeguarding, leadership and safety courses, all available through the rec centre.

Interested in soccer, softball, field hockey, tennis, track and field or football? Lindsay has you covered! With sports fields throughout the city, you can always get outside. Lindsay is home to nine arenas, housing ten ice pads, with most of them open from September to March. The ice-pad at the Lindsay Recreation Complex, however, is maintained year round. During summer months, some arena floor pads are available for ball hockey, lacrosse and other special events.

What about Canada’s official national winter sport you might ask? Don’t worry, Lindsay has more than enough hockey to keep the biggest fans and talented players busy. From midget BB to novice BB, there are hockey programs for every age group, including an OJHL team, the Lindsay Muskies. The Lindsay Hockey system has produced NHL players in the likes of Cory Stillman, Jamie Allison and Don Maloney.

Lindsay may be an area on the grow, but with a robust hockey program, indoor and outdoor facilities as well as year-round sports amenities, Lindsay is genuinely one of the hidden gems for sports enthusiasts in Ontario.
